Well if you couldn’t guess it’s the special equipment edition of Evangelion 1.0 – you are not alone. It placed 4thon the oricon list of the top 50 dvd’s in Japan between December 24, 2007 and June 16, 2008. The special edition sold 263,395 copies, 219,000 of those were sold in the first week of its release.
Along with the film were several cool extras including a piece of 35MM film cut from the theatrical release of the movie. Also included is an exclusive booklet and box along with a dvd full of commentary, promotional trailers, etc. Evangelion was one of only five anime to make this list. At the #39 spot were volumes 1 and 2 of the world of golden eggs. Coming in at #41 was Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Mobile suit Gundam memorial box. And the last anime to make it on was Pocket monsters Diamond and pearl: Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai. (Also known as pokemon)
